I’ve been building NextMatchDating, a dating app centered around short, live 5-minute video conversations instead of endless swiping and texting.
The idea came from noticing how much time people spend chatting without ever meeting — and how often conversations just fade out.
How it works:
You’re matched and immediately enter a live video date
The date lasts 5 minutes
After 90 seconds, a “Next” button activates so you’re not stuck if there’s no chemistry
When the timer ends, both people choose Yes or No
If both say Yes, it’s a match
The goal is to:
Reduce ghosting
Reduce swipe fatigue
Make dating feel more human
Tech stack:
Flutter (web + mobile direction)
Agora for video call.
Supabase backend
OpenAI for profile Embedding.
It’s still early and I’m actively iterating.
Would love feedback — especially on:
The 5-minute constraint
The 90-second early exit
Any obvious UX friction
