Grow up in a place where roads have gravel on the shoulders and are made using coarse-chip seal and you’ll get them regularly.

replyApparently I just live in a place where it's not a common problem. Also I do tend to leave a big gap behind cars in front.

replyThey don't do either of those things, and yet somehow I haven't witnessed any cars sliding off the road in winter either.
