Between "The Guardian" and it being a warm/fuzzy-type story, I'd read that as "fresh local ingredients when available".

replyRight, the location is off too! The ingredients probably aren't sourced in Oregon after moving to California, but anyway the season ("fresh") and location ("local") point stands. I guess she use local eggs.
