It may be effective, but it's an unacceptable security risk imo. No amount of effectiveness can justify installing a literal rootkit to play the game.
replyValorant only uses kernel mode anticheat on Windows. Apple has taken security seriously enough that the anticheat is user mode only on MacOS.

I don't install games that require kernel level anticheat. I wish those games would stop using them because without that I'd play a few of them.
replyKernel level anticheat isn't a silver bullet, either. It just simplifies the work of the anticheat programmers. I personally think that the silver bullet is behavioral anticheat and information throttling (don't send the player information about other players that he can't see/hear)

replyif you can design a better one without drawback then you could try to release a better one
