replyI don't think we've gotten to the extent that all popular writing styles (eg. hamburger paragraphs) are considered suspect, but the "it's not just X, it's Y" construction[1] attracts particular scrutiny.

I was giving this the benefit of the doubt as well and was just looking at his older writings that have a little "This article is more than 5 years old" banner above it. Looks totally different indeed.
