Drone is just a generic term.

There are more specific terms for specific types of vehicles, and some of those terms have changed over the past few decades.

UGV = unmanned ground vehicle

UAS = unmanned aerial system

UAV = unmanned aerial vehicle

UUV = unmanned underwater vehicle

Etc
