Actually, I do like Kate, but Zed seems to give me the best of everything I want. It's like they know exactly what I want out of an editor, they provide way more than I need, but that is okay too.
replyI think I need to give Zed another look. A while back, it seemed like they’d shifted gears toward prioritizing AI, and I lost interest because I was looking for a more pure IDE with solid LSP support, good debugging tools, and so on.
replyThey've prioritized supporting AI for people who want to use it, but it's highly respectful of devs who don't want to.
replyKate is REALLY underrated. The UI is a bit meh, but it makes up for it in terms of features. It is actually a fantastic document editor. Don't really use it for coding.
