It is safe to assume there are more 'normal' chat sessions than 'codex' sessions, although Codex sessions likely consume 10x the tokens the average person does asking for a lasagna recipe.

Right, sure. I can burn through some tokens with Codex. (But I can burn through some tokens with ChatGPT, too, and some people spend a lot of time there. Non-programmers use the bot for all kinds of things.)

What's the ratio of regular users to codex users, might you suppose?

If I had to guess, then I'd guess it is a minimum of 100:1, but my gut tells me that it's probably closer to 1000:1.

I think your estimate of RegularUsers:Codex users of (100:1) is probably spot on. Hard to tell, although a Reddit thread exists with an apparent number of 4.2% of "Usage" (whatever usage refers to) is Programming related. [0].
