replyThis adaptation is heavily modified, but I think it adds to the whole thing. Soviet artists had an uncanny talent for making everything that's unsettling even more so.
The bird scene at the end where it repeatedly smashes into the window really hit me... something this version does better than the original.
replyIn the video it claims the date is December 31, 2026 at the 4:02 mark. I wonder why the animation changed the date from the short story.

Thanks for sharing. Soviet era animation was creepy in its own right. This adaptation doubly so.

I think the idea is that the house had large amounts of storage and freezers that it could use to get ingredients for meals which it then cooked.
replyI'd be more interested why there seem to be fresh charred bodies in the morning.
replyBradbury actually anticipated this on the Martian side and explicitly calls out frozen dinners.
