Ah, interesting. Searching the dataset for my local area, this seems to include some restaurants, but omits hotels entirely. That's skewing the numbers downward tremendously.

Which explains why Spearmint Rhino is listed in Birmingham (hint: you might get a surprise popping in that establishment for a quick pint).

So nice interface and all but some data curation will be needed - perhaps on a crowd sourced basis? Click and add comment &c.

I thought about doing something similar pre-Covid. There are commercial datasets that are more complete (Local Data Company was the one I targeted when I was researching), but... well... £000's a quarter.

The project would have had to cover its costs, so the idea went to the great backlog in the sky.
