replyThere's no anything. Getting to Wales is easier than getting to Devon for most of England. You can do it accidentally.
I work with people who actively chose to go to conference in Berlin instead of the UK due to visa issues. The passport control is a real issue one cannot just handwave away.
replyDo they have an EU passport? I've never heard of anyone with an EU passport having trouble travelling to the UK.
