The vegetal dock Martens are actually great quality based on 2 friends of mine that own them. Not sure what anecdotic evidence is worth though.

Not sure if the "Made in England" Dr Martens are Solovair made but they're the brand you want. Solovair continue to make good boots after DM moved production and whatnot to crap factories and methods.
