This whole article is about the ills of falloff in brain activity as human agency is hyper normalized; stick to an experiential lane the brain does not further develop or keep active neuron clusters.

Broad sustained exposure being the known mechanism to activate and deactivate "key cognitive brain regions".

Perhaps you should activate more regions via exposure to that which so easily excites your brain due to lack of exposure. Snark won't trigger you so easily then.
