replyNonsense! Increase the punishment and it does. At the extreme, death for every crime, harsher punishments would totally eliminate criminal recidivism.
Do you have evidence that harsher punishments have a causal effect on crime rates?
replyIt would not stop crimes committed by the people in charge of enforcing the draconian punishments.
