Let's be fair: At least some of the features you quoted do work in KDE connect in my experience, so I had the same question as GP. Even after reading the article.
replyLike I mentioned, I found KDE Connect to be lacking but mostly even the feature that it does have, don't always work.
replySo far (really only a couple hours), Tether seems a lot more polished.
