It really doesn’t take massive skill to invite your friends over. It doesn’t have to be this huge production.

Um, I take after my mother, Gigachad, so yes it does have to be a huge production. Just yesterday I finished the leftovers from a party a week ago.
replyI know what you mean, but the real issue for most people is time, money, and social connections. Dinner parties were way down before TikTok. Most people I know cannot host at all, either they live with their parents or their apartment is in such rough shape that it would take days of cleaning to be able to invite people over.
People don't get bored anymore. In the past, staying at home alone usually meant being so bored you'd do anything. Sometimes that would mean "doing anything" results in you going through all the effort to start some sort of club because at least failing at that wouldn't be boring
