Well then I think this is just wrong. If you do E2EE right, then you have the guarantee that no one in the middle (including the server) can read the data. It does have value, and saying "anyway cryptography is worthless because everything can be hacked" is not a productive argument IMO. Some people do rely on it, and it is important that those people understand when they can and when they cannot.
I don't really care so much about nomenclature and categorisation. I care about the fact that people who need it must understand when they can rely on it. And nitpicking on the wording is not making it clearer for them.
