In western Washington State everything is on a hill and it feels as if the road is always wet all the time due to rain. Subaru is the most popular car brand in the whole state because it handles these conditions well.

Wet all the time isn’t a serious loss of traction. Wet after a dry spell is, and everyone there forgets it every time. You will have delays on the highways due to wrecks.

Nobody has the slightest clue how to deal with ice.

Wet is a significant loss of traction, it's just that wet after a dry spell is even worse.

I'm from the Northeast but happened to be in Seattle on a day when it snowed. Every road was a hill and every hill was full of sideways cars.

Just the benefit of driving AWD is enough for me. It's hard to go back...

With AWD, the tire requirements when it’s snowing in the mountains are more relaxed compared to 2wd vehicles.

However every time one of your tires goes bad you have to replace all four.

This is a niche problem but I live in Colorado
